The advantages of the new era of information are out of the capacities of the people with visual impairments. This is due to by the lack of sensibility of the Web contents developers and the low use of the accessibility guidelines. These situations can be solved with technology, and the result of the research presented in this paper offers a new system of solving one of the most important problems: the data table navigation. We present a solution that offers excellent results to make the natural complexity of these elements easy. The system is based on the visualization of the table’s content, in the same manner that uses a non-disabled person, but without the need made any image processing. The solution can help to us to obtain the total e-integration.

Automatic Conversion Tool For Accessible Web

A tool for automatic conversion for making accessible Web pages is presented. It is set in the Help to the Integration of Disabled Persons to the New Technologies field. The project tries to bring the Web to as much people as possible. To get it, we analyze HTML documents and style sheets to adequate them to the regulation of the accessibility dictated by World Wide Web Consortium. The application of this project means a substantial improvement to the access of the information contained in the Web, even though a disability is suffered or not. It improves navigation with all kinds of devices and the view of the Web contents.

En la asignatura de Fundamentos de los Computadores de la titulación de Ingeniería Informática de la Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona se mantuvo, el curso 2006-07, una doble orientación en la impartición de las sesiones de seminarios-problemas: Mientras la docencia impartida en uno de los grupos era de tipo "clásico" (se proponen problemas que los estudiantes deben trabajar en casa y el profesor explica las soluciones en clase, respondiendo a todas las dudas que puedan surgir) en el otro grupo se seguía una modalidad de impartición más colaborativa en la que eran los propios alumnos los que, durante la clase, resolvían los casos bajo la tutela del profesor. La pregunta que los profesores nos hicimos es: Si a los estudiantes se les dejara escoger entre una de las dos opciones, ¿qué preferirían?. Y, lo que es más importante, ¿con cual de las dos opciones (parece que)
aprenden más?.

Se diseñó un experimento para contestar a estas preguntas, de modo que permitiera la comparación de datos sobre la misma cohorte, situación que sucede con poca frecuencia en estudios similares. Esta ponencia presenta los resultados obtenidos tras un año de experiencia.
